Dr. Benito Torres is a pain management doctor in Lakeland, Florida, specializing in pain management of conditions such as acute headaches, arthritis, back pain, cancer pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, scoliosis, shingles, whiplash, and much more.

Dr. Torres completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Toledo followed by an ACGME accredited 2-year Pain Medicine Fellowship at the University of South Florida. Dr. Torres is Board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine through the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Following completion of his training, Dr. Torres accepted a position as faculty in the Department of Anesthesia at Moffitt Cancer Center providing pain relief through minimally invasive procedures. He also received an Academic appointment as a clinical assistant professor in the department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of South Florida and Department of Neurology where he worked directly with the education of Residents and medical students and Pain medicine fellows.
Treatment of Pain
Pain can be a debilitating condition resulting from an injury or illness. It is not a one size fits all condition. Each patient requires a thorough evaluation and multifaceted approach to develop the most effective pain management treatment plan.
Opioids are needed in the treatment of pain but must not be the first line of treatment. There are many minimally invasive procedures, physical therapy, and non-narcotic therapies that can be utilized to allow you to return to your normal activities of daily living.
Novus Spine & Pain Center also includes an award-winning Vein Clinic. Since 2018, the Vein Clinic has been recognized as the “Best of Central Florida” Vascular Vein Clinic in Polk County’s Official Community Choice Awards.
