A spinal cord stimulator (SCS) uses electrical impulses to help relieve chronic pain in the back, arms, and legs. The electrical pulses prevent pain the brain from receiving pain signals from the area of the implant. The implant can help in pain management for those suffering from neuropathic pain and conservative treatments have failed. The implant’s electrical pulses are programmed with an external wireless programmer. The patient uses the programmer to turn the system on or off and adjust the stimulation power level.
